FOUR CREWS were sent to deal with a commercial fire in Nelson this afternoon.
Firefighters from Nelson, Colne and Burnley were called at about 2pm to a building fire on Southfield Street, Nelson, which involved five metres of bitumen on the roof.
An aerial ladder platform and support pump from Preston were used as well as one hose reel, saw tools and a triple extension ladder.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "On 2nd December at 1:54pm, four fire engines from Nelson, Colne and Burnley attended a building fire on Southfield street, Nelson.
"An aerial ladder platform and support pump from Preston were mobilised. The fire involved approximately five metres of bitumen on the roof of a commercial building.
"Fire services used one hose reel, saw tools and a triple extension ladder. Crews were at the scene for two hours and forty minutes."
