A BLACKBURN fitness fanatic challenged himself to run 300K for charity.

Mick Preston ran 10K every day for thirty days throughout November to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Trust.

Mick’s eldest daughter Hollie, lost her mum, Charlene Dominik to leukaemia two years ago.

He said: “It is a charity which is close to my daughters heart as she unfortunately lost her mother in a battle with leukaemia.

"Whatever we can raise for this cause will mean a great deal to her in helping others in their fight against this cancer.”

The Anthony Nolan Trust is a charity that makes lifesaving connections between people with blood cancer and strangers who to donate their stem cells.

By growing the stem cell register, carrying out ground-breaking research and providing the best post-transplant care people living with the blood cancer have a better chance of survival.

Mick aimed to raise £500 for the charity but has smashed his target and people are still donating to the charity.

His wife Lucy Preston has been supporting her husband along with his other two daughters, Ruby and Millie.

Lucy said: “We are all so proud of him, it is a massive achievement and we are proud of him."
