Everybody is craving normality and with Christmas just around the corner we must all still remember that the pandemic is far from over.
Relaxing the restrictions for five days can be dangerous and we have to wonder if a few days of nominal freedom really worth the risk of another spike of Covid in the New Year.
When we come out of lockdown some people can be less vigilant and especially at this time of year when many are naturally letting themselves go drinking more, socialising etc etc. Unfortunately, Covid doesn’t stop for Christmas and this is what we must all remember.
The cruelty of Covid is that it separates people from the ones they love, however we must remember that Christmas as a religious festival is one thing but Christmas as a family festival is something totally different.
We can celebrate family festivals on any day and at any time of the year but most importantly when it is safe to do so.
With hopefully vaccines available very soon would it not be advisable to wait a while for the celebrations.
