BOSSES at a new doggy day care centre are set to have tails wagging when it opens in 2021.

Bold Bark at Higher Bold Venture Farm on Haslingden Old Road, Oswaldtwistle, hopes to offer a challenging experience and environment on its 200 acres of land.

The project has been more than a year in the making with two outdoor runs and an indoor run being built and they have already had dogs down to trial the new facilities.

Jade McKean, who lives on the farm, will be offering grooming services on site and has spoken to council licensing chiefs about opening next year.

She said: “It all came about through my dog grooming business as my clients told me there was a lack of doggy day care centres that have a lot of wide open space.

“We are on the farm and where better than up near the windmills and me and my partner Peter decided to set it up.

“We are excited about turning it into a bit of a dog haven and even though.

“Even though it has come at a bit of a bad time with Covid we have provided a really safe place and we are out in the open and had some bookings for people to do the outdoor runs.

“We had some people who were worried about taking their dogs into parks over the chances of bumping into people.”

Jade added that they want to give the dogs a great experience.

She said: “We want to send them home absolutely shattered as I get home like that.

“They will be enjoying the purpose-built indoor and outdoor runs and we have other land to use for lead walking and we want to mix it up for the dogs.

“We want to challenge the dogs and we will be giving them something different every day.

“We have had some white dogs who have come away covered in mud and enjoyed it!"
