TWO men were arrested after a large amount of drugs and cash were found by a police dog.

At around 11.30pm on Friday, officers from the Burnley neighbourhood police team along with the taskforce stopped an Audi which had been travelling in the Daneshouse area of town.

One man immediately ran away from officers and hid before he was tracked down.

The male was found to be in possession of a large amount of cash and after the area was searched by police dog Cuzo, suspected Class A drugs were also recovered.

A police spokesman said: "A second male passenger from within the vehicle was also searched and found to be in possession of further amounts of suspected Class A drugs and cash. Both males were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. Enquiries are still ongoing and PD Cuzo received a special treat for all his hard work." Any suspicious drug dealing in the area should be reported to PC Dave Cottam at 92@lancashire.police.uk
