A MAIN road in Darwen has been closed due to water mains burst.
Blackburn with Darwen Road posted on social media about the news on Marsh House Lane this morning.
A statement said: "United Utilities have had to close Marsh House Lane between Pole Lane and the mini roundabout at Roman Road/Hoddlesden Road/Blacksnape Road due to a mains burst and subsequent damage.

"A main diversion route is in place for HGV traffic along the A666 to Earcroft away, then through Lower Darwen to Stopes Brow and Roman Road.
"Local traffic can use Ellison Fold Way to Oak Grove and Pot House Lane, but please bear in mind that these are residential streets and can get easily congested.
"United Utilities have advised that all works required will be completed and the road reopened on Monday 30th November."
