HOSPICE physiotherapist Rachel Jones is going above and beyond throughout this winter and autumn with an incredible Arctic Flapper Challenge.

The challenge, which began on November 1 and will conclude on March 28, will see Rachel attempt 21 open water swims in under 20 weeks in nothing but her swimming costume and hat in order to raise money for the East Lancashire Hospice.

Rachel, a member of the Bluetits Chill Swimmers group, will be attempting her challenge alone due to lockdown restriction but hopes eventually to be able to return to group swims.

She said: “It is my hope to encourage people to be active in the winter months whilst raising money for the hospice.

“I’ve witnessed the positive impact that the hospice has on its patients and their families and would really like to support fundraising where I can.”
