WORK is set to start later this month on 21 new homes in an East Lancashire market town.

Concert Living, a medium-sized housebuilder based in Leyland, has completed on the purchase of four acres of farmland needed for the Clitheroe scheme.

The company has already secured detailed planning permission for the estate from Ribble Valley Council.

Work will begin later this month to build 21 three, four and five-bedroom family homes near the picturesque Pendleton Brook.

They include bungalows and executive detached homes.

It will be the third confirmed development for Concert Living.

Paul Smith, managing director of development partner The Strategic Land Group, said: “This is a fantastic site for much-needed new homes for both families and older people, which are in short supply in Clitheroe.”

Laurie Lane, land and planning director at Concert Living, said: “We have built a great working relationship with the Strategic Land Group over the past year and we’re very excited to have completed on the purchase of this fantastic spot in Clitheroe.

“We are delighted to add this scheme to our portfolio in Bamber Bridge and Weeton and we look forward to commencing work on site with our build partner, Brimas Construction, by the end of the month.”
