Detectives investigating an arson in which a beauty salon was set on fire are wanting to speak with the man in this CCTV image.

Police were called just after midnight on September 28 after receiving reports that a fire had started at the iLashed Academy on Blackpool Road in Preston.

When officers arrived they discovered some kind of accelerant had been poured through the door and then set alight.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called around 12.25am on September 28 to reports of a fire at the iLashed Academy on Blackpool Road.

"Officers attended and found accelerant had been poured through the door, before it was set alight.

"We believe the offender may have injured their hand in the process."

Following extensive CCTV enquiries police say they now want to speak to the man in the image and are asking anybody who recognises him to get in touch with them as soon as possible.

Det Con Liz Sheard, of Preston Police, said: “Our investigation into an arson attack at a beauty salon in Ashton-on-Ribble is very much on-going.

“Someone has deliberately set this business premises on fire and we are working hard to establish who is responsible.

“We would urge anyone who recognises the man pictured to come forward with information.”

Anybody with information is asked to get in touch on 101, quoting log number 22 of September 28.
