Two men have been arrested in connection with shoplifting and drugs offences.

The men, from Blackburn, were arrested on Monday after police were called to the Booths in Clitheroe to investigate an incident of theft.

Officers from the Ribble Valley neighbourhood policing team and the East division Tac Ops unit apprehended the men, and while searching a nearby vehicle found a stash of suspected drugs.

Enquiries remain ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Ribble Valley police said: "Enquiries are ongoing after two males from Blackburn were arrested yesterday by East Tac Ops, and the Ribble Valley neighbourhood policing team for theft after a report of shoplifting from Booths in Clitheroe.

"They were also arrested in relation to possession with intent to supply after what is suspected to be drugs were found in a nearby vehicle."
