EVER fancied serving up sumptuous Michelin-star to your family from the comfort of your own home?
Well, now you can by taking part in a virtual masterclass created by Nelson-based Wellocks at Home with the help of Michael Wignall, chef patron of The Angel at Hetton.
Wellocks will provide all the ingredients you’ll need to cook an exquisite three-course menu for two.
It follows the success of the first virtual dining experience hosted by Michelin-starred chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen in July.
Wellocks supply ingredients to 45 per cent of the UK’s Michelin-starred restaurants.
The new virtual experience includes a box of ingredients, a recipe booklet and access to an exclusive digital masterclass from Michelin-starred chef Michael.
It will cost £70 and he’ll talk through techniques, tips and tricks, and share the secrets behind some of his top dishes.
Plus, £5 from every virtual masterclass is donated to charity partner Springboard’s FutureChef, which aims to inspire young people to explore food and cooking as a life skill.
The menu has a roasted butternut squash, home-made ricotta, teriyaki hen-of-the-woods, pumpkin granola and nasturtium as a starter, followed by a Yorkshire shin of beef, Alsace bacon, baby onions and pak choi.
Finally, for dessert there will be brioche pain perdu, vanilla, cinnamon, caramelised pineapple and clotted cream.
There’s also the chance for the resulting culinary creations to be judged by Michael.
The pictures can be shared on social media, with the chance for the winner to sample a gourmet tasting menu for two at The Angel, cooked by Michael himself.
The virtual masterclass is available to purchase until 5pm on November 20, with ingredients being delivered on Wednesday, November 25,ahead of the masterclass on Friday, November 27.
