A COUNCIL leader has reminded the lockdown lonely and worried that its coronavirus helpline service is still operating and has been upgraded.
The Ribble Valley Community Hub is helping hundreds of households with everyday needs and offering a listening ear.
Borough political boss Cllr Stephen Atkinson has revealed that following the introduction of new Covid-19 national restrictions until December 2, additional council staff have been redeployed to it.
The hub can make referrals for help with such as shopping and prescription collections to community support groups and offer advice on a wide range of services.
Cllr Atkinson said: “Our officers have been running the borough’s community hub throughout the pandemic and have helped hundreds of residents.
“They have access to a wide range of knowledge and information, and have matched hundreds of households with vital support.”
