A SHISHA bar found with 23 people inside when police raided the premises on Sunday now faces a ‘sizeable fine’ for breaking coronavirus regulations.
Already the customers found at Cube in Darwen Street, Blackburn, have been given fixed penalty notices of £200 each.
Now the owners have been warned by a council boss they too will face further consequences.
Cllr Jim Smith, Blackburn with Darwen Borough’s executive member for the environment, said: “This is a pretty serious breach of the current rules and it is really disappointing to find that some people are still meeting up like this. We are in a national lockdown in an attempt to get the spread of the virus under control and situations like this make it very hard.
“The owners can expect further consequences as a result of this act of stupidity, and as we can see with the penalties handed out, people who act this way will be caught and could find themselves with a sizeable fine. People need to think about their actions and follow the rules for the good of everyone.”
