A BODY which was found in a river in Clayton-le-Moors is not thought to be suspicious.
Police were called on Saturday morning to reports of a body in the river near the bottom of Lower Barnes Street and found the body of a man in his 50s.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at around 9.45am on Saturday (November 7th) to reports a body had been found in the river close to Lower Barnes Street, Clayton-le-Moors.
"We attended and sadly found the body of a man aged in his 50s.
"There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.
"Our thoughts are very much with his family and friends at this sad time."
