NO DEATHS have been recorded in East Lancashire hospitals today as cases in the area increases by 290.

Four deaths have been recorded in the county today, all of which were in Lancashire Teaching Hospitals which operate Chorley and South Ribble Hospital and Royal Preston Hospital.

One death took place yesterday (November 7), one on Friday and two on Thursday.

The most cases have been found in Blackburn with Darwen with a further 100 new cases. The borough has now had 7,687 cases since the start of the pandemic.

In Hyndburn, 41 more people have tested positive, meaning a total of 2,901 have now tested positive for the virus.

The second highest number of cases today comes from Burnley with 56 more cases, taking their total number of cases to 3,670.

Pendle and Ribble Valley have both reported another 33 cases today taking Pendle’s total number to 3,703 and Ribble Valley’s total number to 1,649.

Rossendale has now seen 2,547 cases of the virus after a further 27 people have tested positive.

In the past seven days 2806 people in East Lancashire have tested positive for the virus, with 1099 of the cases being found in Blackburn with Darwen.

Nationally, 20,572 have tested positive and 151 Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded today - 122 of the deaths were in England, 19 in Wales, three in Scotland and seven in Northern Ireland.
