JOB support will stay open in a Covid-19 safe way to help those who are unemployed during the coronavirus pandemic.

While many services are closed leaving people are isolated and worried for their future, Community CVS Boulevard Centre in Blackburn remains open for free and friendly support.

Blackburn with Darwen residents can get face to face support on digital skills, help to get a job, or to become self-employed with Covid-19 safe appointments available between every week day between 10am and 4pm.

Community CVS support includes ‘Action for Jobs’ giving you a helping hand to boost your confidence, skills and employability to find work or education in a tough jobs market.

Open to all those over 18, digital support to help people learn how to ‘get online’ providing free and friendly help sessions with laptops to learn essential skills that will help with your day to day lives.

This could be connecting with loved ones you can’t meet during lockdown, get better deals with bills and shopping, access benefits and banking, gain confidence working remotely from home or know how to safely use social media.

For those wanting to explore self-employment or setting up a business, our business advisor will help to turn your business idea into a concrete business plan and help to talk through everything that is required to register your business and to start trading.

Action for Jobs support is for over 18’s, and anyone not in paid work, including those with long term health conditions for residents from Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, Preston, Pendle, Burnley and Blackpool.

Digital skills support and self-employment support is available to all residents of Lancashire, whether unemployed or already working.
