EVERY pub and restaurant has now been given permission to operate as takeaways and to serve alcohol until 2022.
Pubs, bars and restaurants were forced to close on Thursday as part of a second coronavirus lockdown, but now the government has announced that takeaway food and alcohol can be served as long as it is pre-ordered.
The automatic takeaway provison was due to expire next year but will now be extended for another year, to allow the hospitality sector to operate in some way.
This means they will not need to go through a planning application process to provide takeaway, with the exemption being extended until March 23, 2022.
