The number of people testing positive for the coronavirus is continuing to rise across East Lancashire after new figures showed 469 new affirmative tests had been recorded since Tuesday - the highest increase this week.
Data released on Wednesday afternoon showed a further 197 people had tested positive for the virus in Blackburn with Darwen - the area that still has the highest Covid-19 infection rate in England.
According to data published on the government's coronavirus dashboard, a total of 7,060 cases have now been reported in the borough.
Next up is Rossendale where 66 additional people have tested positive since Tuesday, meaning a total of 2,372 people have had affirmative results in the borough.
Pendle recorded the third highest number of new cases - 64 - bringing the total number of people infected in the area since the start of the pandemic to 3,481.
In Hyndburn there were 54 new positive tests, while Burnley recorded a further 52.
The cases there stand at 2,685 and 3,400 respectively.
The fewest new cases were reported in the Ribble Valley where 26 new positive tests were discovered, taking their total to 1,506.
