PHOTOGRAPHER Lee Mansfield, who was captured a range of stunning images of the moon across Lancashire in recent months has once again taken a stunning image of one of our greatest landmarks.
His latest work shoes Darwen Tower, bathed in the light of the moon at 80% size.
Burnley-based Mr Mansfield said that this lunar vision had a particular resonance around Halloween.
He said: "This month's moon is Hunters Moon, the hunter's moon is also particularly bright and long in the sky, giving hunters the opportunity to stalk prey at night."
He added: "When you look at the full Moon on Halloween night on Friday, it won’t appear blue in colour but you’ll be looking at something pretty uncommon.
"A full Moon on Halloween occurs roughly once every 19 years, a pattern known as the Metonic Cycle."
