A COUNCIL is to review its licensing regime with a view to bringing its day and night time economies into balance.
Burnley's new Labour leader Cllr Mark Townsend revealed the plan as the borough's executive approved a new policy on the issue.
He said: "What I would like to put on the record is that the new executive is very keen to see that licensing is reviewed at some stage, certainly in terms of the impact between the nighttime economy and the daytime economy and to see if we can bring both of the environments together so that we end up with things that don't come into conflict between the nighttime and the daytime."
