A MAN was rescued from the River Calder yesterday and taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The Northwest Ambulance Service were called to the scene on Royal Road, along the stretch of the river behind the Town Mouse pub on the outskirts of Burnley town centre at around 6.10pm yesterday
Police were also called to the scene and a male patient with serious injuries was retrieved from the river.
The man was taken to hospital with the North West Air Ambulance Service unable to confirm any further details at this time.
