This week’s aerial photograph shows Accrington town centre in 1982.
At the top of the photo you can see the town centre car park behind Broadway with the white frontage of the Unit Four cinema. From this picture you get to see the size of the market hall and outdoor market with its distinctive roof.
The town hall is to the left. Blackburn Road runs in front of the market hall and Whalley Road runs to the top right of the picture.
