A CARE home in Accrington has been forced to close its doors because of the pressures of coronavirus.
The 'devastating' decision was made by owners and now Greycroft Residential Care Home in Queens Road is up for sale because of the financial pressures of the pandemic.
The privately funded and council residents have now been re-homed safely since the business closed earlier this month.
Helen Barrow, director of Barley Healthcare, said: “Though we have had to take the devastating decision to close the home we remain proud of our workforce and all the efforts we all put in to keeping our residents safe through this extremely challenging time.
“Due to the professionalism and dedication of our staff we are proud that we have had no cases of coronavirus in the home.
“The financial pressures of the coronavirus crisis were sadly too great for us to overcome.
“We wish all our staff and residents well in their new settings and are grateful to the local authority and CQC for their help to navigate this process safely and sensitively.”
The care home was rated 'good' by the CQC and provided a home-from-home environment where everyone was valued and made to feel welcome.
