TESTING sites across East Lancashire have reduced, despite rising case numbers across the county.
Yesterday, Lancashire was put into tier two of the new government local lockdown system.
East Lancashire has six testing sites, three of which are in Blackburn with Darwen.
EAST LANCASHIRE TESTING SITES
Blackburn with Darwen council have two walk-in test centres, despite struggles last month with testing capacity nation wide.
The council are asking people to attempt to book a test if they are displaying symptoms and to only visit the walk in sites if they are unable to get an appointment.
The walk in sites are located at Blackburn College car park of Railway Road carpark in Darwen and both operate 8am-8pm, seven days a week.
There is also the main testing centre located outside of the Royal Blackburn Hospital. Appointments for this site are available on the national system.
Other sites across the area are available in Nelson, Barnoldswick and Burnley.
All of these sites are bookable by the national system.
The Rainhall Road car park site in Barnoldswick opened on Monday (October 12) after many community testing sites were closed over the weekend.
Ribble Valley and Hyndburn districts do not currently have a test centre available, with people being asked to visit one of the other testing sites or order a home testing kit.
