SEVEN more East Lancashire organisations have received cash from the government's Culture Recovery Fund.
Five are from Burnley and share £652,005 while two in Hyndburn split £157,270.
The Burnley organisations are: Burnley Youth Theatre (£59,448), Burnley Leisure for the Burnley Mechanics venue(£336,597), Burnley Borough Council for Towneley Hall (£116,476), Mid Pennine Arts (£70,205), and Sanctuary (£69,279).
In Hyndburn the cash goes to Hyndburn Arts and Idle Women Arts
Burnley MP Antony Higginbotham, said: “Burnley’s cultural strength comes from the sheer variety of organisations we have; from Towneley Hall and Burnley Mechanics, through to the Youth Theatre and Sanctuary. That variety has been essential in bringing people from around the country to the borough and supporting jobs and I want to make sure that when we get through this difficult period, we can go back to doing that..”
Hyndburn MP Sara Britcliffe MP, said: "I am delighted that Hyndburn arts Limited and Idle Women Arts are to benefit from this urgently needed support. This will be welcome news and a lifeline to both. As someone who has grown up involved in performing arts and even performing at the Civic Theatre, I recognise how important they are to our local communities."
