Schoolchildren aged over 11 are being urged to wear masks on school buses as coronavirus cases in Lancashire continue to soar.
Bosses at Lancashire County Council are asking pupils to wear face coverings on buses.
It is a legal obligation on public buses but masks are only an advisory on school buses however the council is stressing the importance of wearing them on all forms of public transport.
A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council said: "Schools have been working hard to ensure they can reopen safely, but it's important to minimise the potential for transmission outside of school, including journeys to and from school.
"Our priority is keeping schools open so children can continue their education and we all have a part to play."
