A RIBBLE Valley schoolboy has set his sights on making the final of Britain's Got Talent.

Jasper Cherry blew the judges away when he performed a trick where he made a card appear in a pre-recorded video on the ITV show.

The 14-year-old attends Ribblesdale High School in Clitheroe who have shown their support for the year 10 student.

Speaking after the semi-final, he said: "It has been absolutely incredible!

"I loved every moment of performing on that huge stage and the judges comments left me amazed! It was different from the auditions obviously as it was a virtual audience but that was cool too!

"I couldn't believe it when I got the call to say I was in the semi-final! Keeping that news a secret was difficult when people kept asking!

"Definitely performing to the judges and seeing Ashley's reaction at the end was insane. I love the buzz I get when the reactions are like his!"

Jasper said he has loved the Britain's Got Talent experience.

"I have loved it all. I have met some amazingly talented people and had so much fun.

"I think I am more confident in performing and my magical skills have certainly improved.

"I am going to keep my feet on the ground as a I have school and homework that helps me do that. Yeah I just want to continue doing magic and performing as I love it but I know that working hard at school is really important too. "

Earlier this week, the Lancashire Telegraph reported how officials from the Clitheroe-based school were getting behind him.

He said: "School has been very supportive of me and my magic.

"Each week I do magic morning in my class where I practice my tricks on my class mates.

"The whole of Lancashire has been incredible though, I have had loads of messages of support so thank you."

He added that he has aspirations of taking magic as a career.

"Well I need to start by saying I aspire to be in the final.

"After that I want to be a famous magician and travel around the world performing magic.

"Working with other magicians I have looked up to like Dynamo and Shin Lim would be a dream come true for sure."

Jasper has enjoyed meeting the other acts in the show.

He said: "For me meeting Magical Bones, Sign Along, Sirine and John Courtney are real highlights. I also met James Arthur and watched him perform, he was so good!"

Jasper was up for the public vote, so could have made the final. Viewers will find out on the day of the final.
