A TEENAGE cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Chorley on Sunday, with police appealing for information.

Officers arrived at the scene at the junction between Harpers Lane and Beaconsfield Terrace at around 12.10pm on September 20.

There they found a 17-year-old cycling on a black Carrera mountain bike had collided with a Vauxhall Adam, which had been travelling up Harpers Lane, and had been left with leg and pelvic injuries.

Lancashire Police Tactical Operation's Sergeant Michael Belfield said:“This collision has left a young man seriously injured and we need to establish exactly what happened. I would ask anyone with information or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to get in contact with police as soon as possible.”

Fortunately the driver of the Vauxhall Adam was not injured.
