A CYCLIST is in a serious but stable condition after suffering leg and pelvis injuries in a crash.

Officers were called to at 12.10pm on Sunday (September 20) to reports a black Carrera mountain bike had collided with a Vauxhall Adam, which had been travelling up Harpers Lane.

The collision happened at the junction with Beaconsfield Terrace.

The 17-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital while the female driver of the Adam was not injured.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the collision and officers are now appealing for anybody with information.

Sgt Michael Belfield, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “This collision has left a young man seriously injured and we need to establish exactly what happened. I would ask anyone with information or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to get in contact with police as soon as possible.”
