Officers from GMP Bolton North caught a driver travelling at 86mph in a 30mph zone this afternoon as part of a speed enforcement task.
The officers were stationed in Bury Road where they are said to have issued "several traffic offence reports" today.
The highest speed they recorded on the 30mph speed limit road was 86mph.
Police said the driver of this vehicle will be summoned to court for their driving.
A post on GMP Bolton North's Facebook page said: "Officers from the Transport Unit were engaged in speed enforcement on Bury Road in Bolton today.
"86MPH was the highest speed in a 30.
"Several traffic offence reports issued and the driver at 86MPH will be summoned to court."
