SINCE East Lancashire will be put back into lockdown from Tuesday, questions have been raised over whether the country is headed back into a nationwide lockdown.

The Lancashire Telegraph asked you if it was time to think about a nationwide lockdown and 1239 people said yes, while 964 said no.

Facebook user Steven Ashworth said: "Full lockdown last two weeks in December carried on through January and if this does not work have our first anniversary in March.

"It does not matter how long the lockdown is the virus will still be there at the end of it."

While Sam Saunders said: "Having postponed my wedding in Hampshire three times, we plan to go spend the weekend instead with my parents...in East Lancs!

"Having not seen them since Feb and hassle of rearranging our wedding we now can't go and stay and see them next weekend.

"All because people can't follow simple rules and common sense, makes me so mad."

People living in Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Rossendale and The Ribble Valley will have to follow new restrictions as the government made the announcement on Friday.

The new restrictions apply to Blackburn with Darwen, Pendle, Preston, Rossendale, Hyndburn, Burnley and South Ribble, West Lancashire, Chorley, Wyre, Fylde, Lancaster and Ribble Valley.
