TWO businesses have been fined in court after they were caught selling vaping products to children.

Prosecutions have been brought against two vape shops and an employee by Warrington Borough Council in a crackdown on traders.

Warrington Magistrates Court heard on Wednesday, September 9, that 68-year-old Joanne Davies sold strawberry flavoured e-liquid to an under 18 while working at Vapeco – a stall in the Cockhedge Centre – in November last year.

The same month, the V8pe Shop on Orford Lane was also caught selling a similar product to a minor.

The V8pe Shop, Vapeco and Davies all admitted offences against the Children and Families Act 2014.

Davies, from Liverpool, was fined £168 and told to pay court costs of £150 plus a £32 victim surcharge.

No separate penalty was brought against Vapeco.

Meanwhile the V8pe Shop was handed a £500 fine and ordered to a £50 surcharge and £150 in court costs.
