Officers swooped on a vehicle in Blackburn Town Centre linked to an armed robbery in Bradford.

The dramatic moment was captured by one passer-by on Cardwell Place with police cars surrounding a vehicle.

Police said the grey Skoda Octavia was linked to a report of an armed robbery in Bradford and had been tracked to Blackburn town centre at around 8.15pm (September 8).

A Police statement added, “Armed officers and response officers attended the scene and two men, aged 21 and 42, were arrested in a vehicle on Cardwell Place on suspicion of robbery.

“The two men are now in custody in West Yorkshire. A woman, also arrested on suspicion of robbery, has since been de-arrested.”

An eye-witness told the Lancashire Telegraph, “It was all pretty dramatic. All these cars just converged on this vehicle really quickly and pulled two people out.

“The police were at the scene for about an hour and half.”
