BURNLEY College has announced a significant expansion of its university course provision, with three new HNC programmes and another three new HNDs.

This is in additional to a new Policing with Criminal Investigation honours degree programme announced recently.

The new courses, delivered by University Courses Burnley and approved by Pearson College London, will cover applied sciences - focusing on biology and chemistry, performing arts – focusing on acting, dance and musical theatre and public services.

University Courses Burnley dean Emma Hurst said: “Having different levels of courses on offer will be attractive to both undergraduates who want to step up and be career ready and employers who want to upskill their staff.

“All our degree programmes at UCB are industry-focussed and offer undergraduates of all ages the opportunity to break the mould and do something different.

“These additional courses are a welcome boost to our portfolio as we adapt and respond to our students demands – they won’t be the last!”

Burnley College has also pledged that students will have the opportunity to be taught be industry experts and that academic and financial guidance will be on hand.

Ms Hurst said: “We’re committed to supporting our students to access the right courses for them and provide guidance every step of the way.”

She added: “These are exciting times for UCB as we strengthen our model of providing something different.

"As many students are opting to study closer to home we are adapting and boosting our portfolio of industry-focussed courses so that remaining to study with us in Burnley is a viable option for everyone.”
