A BOOKING clerk at Blackburn Station dealing with a passenger in 1952 seemingly surrounded by the different tickets available.
This was long before the days of automated tickets, so each journey and each fare had its own compartment for the many journeys available from Blackburn.
To give you an idea of the prices at that time, the adult fare to London Euston was 42s 9d and a trip to Bolton would cost you 2s 10d. Children travelled half price.
