A number of stone flags have been stolen from various places and police are wanting to speak to the man, pictured, in connection with the thefts.
Officers in Colne said there have been several incidents in recent weeks in which flags have been illegally removed, with one particular incident in the North Valley area of the town caught on CCTV.
Police are now looking to identify the man in the images, who can be seen removing the flags from a property in Milton Road, using some kind of hand tool.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Over recent weeks we have had reported to us, several incidents of stone flags being removed from various places around Colne.
"We are appealing to the public for any information about our offender, pictured here removing some flags in the Milton Road/North Valley area."
Officers are urging people with any information to refrain from posting about the offender on Facebook or other social media channels, and instead direct all comments to the officer in charge of the investigation via email on 3272@lancashire.pnn.police.uk, or telephone on 07966 577144, using log number 0908 of August 15 as a reference.
