POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman with a pram was hit by a car.

The scary incident took place yesterday at 3.30pm, where a car trying to overtake another on the A5484 Promenade, hit the woman.

She managed to push her pram to safety before being struck by the car and going over the bonnet.

The male driver of the car stopped to check the woman wasn’t seriously injured before driving off. The woman, who suffered only minor injuries, did later attend Blackpool Victoria Hospital as a precaution.

The child in the pram was not injured.

Despite a number of enquiries, work is still ongoing to identify the car involved and police are asking for anyone who was in the area at that time to come forward.

Sgt Mick Belfield, of Lancashire Police Tactical Operations, said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we need the public’s help in identifying the vehicles involved.

“This incident happened in what is normally a busy area of town and we are asking for any witnesses to come forward. We are particularly keen for anybody with dashcam footage to get in touch.” Anyone with information is asked to email 199@lancashire.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 1103 of August 22, 2020.
