***UPDATE - The A682 has now been re-opened***
A road has been closed after a falling tree hit two lorries.
The A682 between Blacko (Barrowford) and Gisburn had to be closed from around 6.45am on Thursday after a large branch from a tree fell into the carriageway and hit two passing lorries.
Road traffic officers say that the stretch of road, which was once dubbed 'the North West's most dangerous road' will remained closed for most of the morning so a clean up and recovery operation can be carried out.
The accident happened outside Todber Caravan Park, Burnley Road, Gisburn.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Road Police said: "A682 between Blacko (Barrowford) and Gisburn is closed from 6.45am due to a falling tree striking two lorries.
"It is likely to remain closed for the morning for recovery and clean up."
