Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Just moments later, a further fire engine from Nelson alongside a crew from Colne were called out to a kitchen fire on Whitehall Street in Nelson.

Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used on hose reel and a ventilation unit to put the blaze out.

An hour and a half later and crews from Darwen and Bolton were called to attend a small fire in a church on Bolton Road.

Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and two ventilation units to extinguish the fire.

An investigation into the cause is underway.
