HYNDBURN MP Sara Britcliffe MP has welcomed a new bus service linking Great Harwood, Rishton, Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington, and Oswaldtwistle with Clitheroe, Whalley and the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The service is one of several improvements supported by Lancashire County Council using £750,000 from the Department of Transport.

It started running with the number 15 last month every hour between Mondays and Saturdays.

Miss Britcliffe said: “This is a great new service for people who travel on buses. It is good to know that there is now a direct service to the hospital, and I hope people will make use of it”

Other East Lancashire improvements include an old route being restored to provide a link between the Ribble Valley and the Royal Preston Hospital.

The number 45 between Preston and Blackburn now has a revised timetable and increased services.

In partnership with the county council, Transdev Rosso has revised the timetable for the 481 between Bury and Blackburn extending the Sunday and bank holiday service. The Service 25A Mellor Brook – Mellor – Blackburn has also seen a number of changes.
