Policed have warned young people about swimming in the river.
POLICE in Colne have issued a warning to young people about swimming in the river near Cotton Tree lane.
The river is near ELA Advanced Technologies and officers fear the water could be harmful for swimmers.
The young people were addressed after local residents raised concerns.
A police spokesperson said: "The young people were spoken to and educated in relation to water safety - Obviously its really important that young people play safely.
"We thank the residents for their concerns.
"All the young people were OK and left the area for their tea."
