AN EIGHTEEN-year-old from Burnley was arrested on Monday on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

At around 4pm Mohammed Dar from Taylor Street was detained after attempting to run away from a local neighbourhood officer on Daneshouse Road.

He was found to be in possession of two large wraps of suspected heroin and a so-called "burner" phone.

A police spokesperson said: " After interviews and further enquiries today the Crown Prosecution Service have authorised charges for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and two further charges of being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine between January and August 2020.

"These 2 further charges relate to evidence obtained by the Targeted Crime Team over a period of time."

Mohammed Dar has been remanded in police custody and will appear before the Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.
