BURNLEY College has this week launched Apprenticeship August with a celebration of the work done by apprenticeship with the college’s partner, training provider Themis.
This comes in the context of an unstable economic and employment landscape due to the ongoing ramifications of the coronavirus crisis, which has devastated industries around the world and forced employers to think different about how to adapt to the new conditions.
Burnley College and Themis hope that the skills apprentices develop can help lead the recovery.
Themis director Neil Burrows said: “Each and every day we hear from Employers about the truly inspirational work our Themis Apprentices are doing in the workplace and we’ve decided to shine the spotlight on that this August.
“It’s great to share the stories of how they’re truly making a difference, from developing new working practices that improve the bottom line or efficiency for their Employers; from training their colleagues and upskilling the workforce with their latest industry knowledge; to bringing energy and motivation which is more important than ever at this time.”
Throughout August Themis will be using its social media channels and website to highlight individual stories about the role of apprentices in a variety of industries including IT, engineering, construction, healthcare, creative arts and media, childcare and sport.
