A 23-year-old man will appear in court after he was arrested and charged with possession and intent to supply hard drugs.
On July 30, officers from Blackburn’s neighbourhood team along with the targeted crime time executed a drugs warrant at an address on Harcourt Road.
Inside they found several street deals of crack cocaine, packaging, mobile phones and scales along with a small amount of heroin.
Umar Farooq, of the same address, was yesterday arrested in relation to the discovery.
A police spokesman said: “He was arrested in relation to this and after interview and consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service he has now been charged with Possession with Intent to supply Class A Crack Cocaine and Possession of Heroin. Farooq will appear before Blackburn Magistrates Court this morning.
“I hope this provides reassurance to local residents that we do hear and listen to the issues affecting your community and will act when and where possible. We can’t be everywhere and solve everything but will continue to try and make an impact where we can.”
