A 21-YEAR-OLD man who has terrorised an estate in Preston has been given a banning order after committing a number of offences in the last 18 months.

Gary Hampson, of Linton Street, Fulwood, was handed the order at Preston County Court on June 26 for a period of 12 months in relation to a host of offences.

This included breach of the peace, assault, criminal damage, robbery, possession of a firearms and terrorising the Moor Nook estate in Preston.

The order prohibits Hampson from:

  • Acting or inciting others to act in an antisocial manner.
  • Possessing, carrying or regularly using more than one mobile phone or electronic device capable of making and receiving phone calls or text messages.
  • Possessing, carrying or regularly using a mobile phone which is not registered in his own name.
  • Entering the area outlined in red on map A (below).
  • Entering Redmayne Street as marked on the map B (below).
  • Congregating in a public place in a group of two or more persons in a manner causing or likely to cause any person to fear for their safety.
  • Being with, associated with or communicating (including social media) anyone under the age of 18, unless by a family court or are family members.
  • Being with, associated with or communicating indirectly or directly, third parties or known associates.

Any breaches may result in Hampson being arrested and prosecuted.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “Securing this civil injunction shows our absolute commitment to tackling antisocial behaviour, which is simply not acceptable and has had a massive impact on the local area.

"We need to take action to protect our communities and hopefully this will send out a message that it will not be tolerated."
