A VERY compact flat is on the market for £110,000.

There is a toilet, shower, sofa-bed and kitchen area squeezed into nine square metres in the property in Buckingham Place, Brighton.

It is a first floor studio apartment which is currently being leased for £450 per month.

But it is now being sold at auction, with property website Zoopla giving a guide price of £110,000.

A floor plan of the flat shows the apartment measures 3.86m by 2.36m.

The Argus:

It was last sold in February 2012 for £165,000, and was listed again on June 5.

And the site has attracted interest, with the website recording nearly 2,000 views on its advert in the last 30 days and almost 3,000 views since it was listed.

The flat is near Seven Dials, which is described as “a vibrant district with a wide range of cafes, bakeries, pubs, restaurants and a sustainable supermarket”.

Buckingham Place is also just a four-minute walk from Brighton Station.

This is not the first petite property to catch the eye of Zoopla’s customers.

In December 2018, a Fulham flat only slightly bigger than this was valued at a quarter of a million pounds – more than double the asking price for the Buckingham Place flat. It was estimated that renters would be willing to pay £980 per month to stay there, with the home touted as a “great buy-to-let investment”.

The Argus:

The property, which covered a meagre 10.6 square metres, became the capital’s “most-viewed home” on Zoopla. A representative for the website said: “The flat has a lovely atmosphere and even the communal areas are well-maintained.

“It is extremely quiet, as it is not bordered by neighbours on either side or above. At the back, there is a view of beautiful Eel’s Brook Common.”

Zoopla said viewers had been drawn to the London flat by its “modest” price tag, given its location – a four-minute walk from Fulham Broadway Tube Station.
