PEOPLE in both Addingham and Hellifield have been celebrating after winning £1,000 each thanks to their ‘lucky postcode’.

Three residents of Church Street, Addingham, were winners when their postcode LS29 0QS was announced as a daily prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Sunday August 2.

Meanwhile, five people in Park Place Hellifield, also won £1,000 each after their BD23 4HB was announced as a daily prize winner on Thursday July 30.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners.

He said: “What great news to get over the weekend.Congratulations to our winners, I hope they go and treat themselves with their winnings.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is one good cause to benefit from the lottery. It has helped to deliver inspiring projects worth more than £28 million in the Dales and surrounding area, such as countryside apprenticeships, supporting local communities, education and outreach, restoring woodlands and wildlife habitats, and improving access and understanding.
