POLICE have urged parents to be vigilant after a flasher exposed himself to children in a park.

The two indecent exposures were reported in Birchwood Walled Garden, off Oakwood Gate, over the weekend.

A first incident occurred at around 5.15pm on Saturday, August 1, while a second took place shortly after 3pm yesterday, Sunday.

On the latter occasion, the pervert hid in bushes before exposing himself to a group of young children who ran away and alerted police.

Officers wish to speak to a man who is described as being white, in his 30s and wearing a black hat, grey jacket and black trousers in connection with the incidents.

Cheshire Police have increased patrols in the area as a result.

Inspector Ruth Atherton said: “Firstly, I want to reassure the local community that we are working hard to locate this man and people can expect to see officers regularly patrolling the area.

“While I do not want to panic the public, I do want people to be vigilant and I would urge parents not to allow their children go to the park on their own.

“If anyone knows who this man might be or has information which will assist our investigation, I would encourage you to contact us.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the force on 101, quoting incident number IML769992, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
