Two men have been charged for a number of serious offences after police appeals for information led to their arrests.

On Friday, Richard Bennett, also known as Richard Shacklady, 29, and Adam Moores, also 29, were arrested in connection with several offences committed in Skelmersdale in recent months, one of which included an incident on July 26 where a man in his 50s was attacked in the Ennerdale area and suffered serious leg and facial injuries.

The two men were also wanted after being spotted on July 27 in possession of weapons in the Alderley and Abbeywood areas.

Additionally, Bennett was being sought in connection with an offence in Feltons, Skelmersdale, on February 28, where a woman was assaulted, threats to life were made and a firearm discharged.

Moores, of Elmstead, Skelmersdale, has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He was remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Saturday August 1.

Bennett, of no fixed address, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, common assault, section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

He is due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
