THE new Home Bargains Blackburn store off Wainwright Way is set to open in September.
Work began on the building, in Byrom Street, last year after contractors cleared the land.
Now a sign at the site says the new store, which includes a large car park, will open on September 19.
The original opening date, at the end of June, was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The new discount store is expected to create 45 full-time and 35 part-time jobs.
Blackburn and Darwen Council regeneration boss Cllr Phil Riley said: “It is good news for Blackburn and I am pleased that they have announced an opening date.
“We are in negotiations with interested parties as to the other side of road."
